St. James college is a popular co-educational secondary and is located close to Brisbane's CBD within walking distance from city trains and buses. The College was founded in 1868 and is very proud of the diversity of students from many cultural backgrounds.

St. James college has links with a range of industry, art, cultural & sporting venues. The well resourced facilities parallel industry standards in the areas of Catering & Hospitality, Construction and Engineering & Business. Technology is a key area of development at St. James college. Links to the Internet & interactive multimedia opportunities are available to all students. St James understands that the dreams and talents of each student are unique. The studies program has been developed to meet the needs of the individual student, covering all ranges of academic ability. This gives students the opportunity to study both a traditional academic pathway, which articulates into tertiary education and vocational pathways in a variety of industries.

DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERISTICS
St James is a small, personalised school where each student is known, supported and encouraged to develop. Each year approximately 100 students graduate from Year 12, of which just under half study for immediate tertiary places.

The top 20% of tertiary course students achieve excellent results in the OP1 to 10 range. St. James college provides a very flexible, modular curriculum catering for a wide diversity of student needs, abilities, interests and stages of development in Years 8, 9 & 10. Senior students can choose tertiary options for university or vocational options for a career pathway
